Polished concrete floor in an Alpharetta, GA home

Concrete Polishing in Alpharetta, GA

Polished concrete is not a coating, so there is nothing to peel, bubble, or chip off a few years in. The floor is the slab itself: we grind it flat with progressively finer diamond tooling, harden it with a chemical densifier, then burnish it until it carries a sheen. Done properly, it holds up for decades and cleans with a dust mop.

How far we take the polish is your call. A satin finish stays soft and matte, a high-gloss finish reads more like a showroom, and a stain can push the same slab toward warm gray, charcoal, or something close to natural stone. We walk the space, look at the concrete you actually have, and tell you what it will realistically do before you spend anything.

Polished Concrete for Alpharetta Homes

Basements are where most Alpharetta homeowners start. The slab is already down there under the carpet pad or the click-together vinyl, and polishing it gives you a finished room without losing ceiling height or adding one more surface you will replace in eight years. Kitchens, laundry rooms, sunrooms, mudrooms, and garages take the same treatment.

Unlike carpet or hardwood, polished concrete has no fibers, grout lines, or gaps for dust, pollen, and pet hair to settle into — which matters more than most people expect during a Georgia spring. It sweeps clean, it handles a wet dog or a dropped grocery bag without complaint, and it pairs well with radiant heat if you are building new.

Benefits of a Polished Concrete Floor

Built for real traffic

A polished slab shrugs off shopping carts, forklifts, kids, dogs, and dropped gym plates. There is no wear layer to scuff through, because the durability comes from the concrete itself being ground flat and chemically hardened.

Almost no upkeep

Dust mop it, damp mop it now and then, and that is the whole routine. No waxing, no stripping, no reseal every season, no grout lines to scrub.

Nothing to trap allergens

No fibers, no seams, no grout for pollen, dust, or pet dander to settle into. In a place where spring coats everything yellow, that changes how a room actually feels to live in.

A finish you choose

Matte, satin, or mirror gloss, with optional stains and saw-cut patterns. The same slab can read raw and industrial or refined enough for a showroom, depending on where we stop.

You already own the floor

There is no new material to buy and nothing hauled to a landfill. You are paying for labor and finish on concrete that is already in the building, which usually lands well below tile or hardwood across the life of the floor.

Easier on the building

A polished surface bounces overhead light back into the room, so spaces read brighter with fewer fixtures running. No adhesives, no off-gassing, and no replacement cycle every decade.

Industrial Floors for Warehouses and Plants

Distribution centers and manufacturing space along the GA-400 corridor put a floor through things a house never will: pallet jacks, hard-wheeled forklifts, dropped tooling, and cleaning at scale. Polished concrete is the standard answer because a densified slab stops dusting, and a floor that does not shed dust keeps product, racking, and air handling cleaner.

We take large square footage in phases, repair and fill joints and cracks before any polishing starts, and match aggregate exposure and gloss level to how the floor will actually be worked. Line striping and slip-resistant treatments can go in during the same visit. Tell us your operating hours and we build the schedule around them.

How We Polish a Floor

Four stages, no shortcuts. Most of the quality is decided in the first one.

1. Surface prep

We strip off old carpet glue, coatings, and tile mastic, then mechanically grind the slab flat and open its pores. Cracks and control joints get filled at this stage. Rush this step and every stage after it shows the shortcut.

2. Densifying

A liquid densifier soaks in and reacts with the concrete, hardening the surface from within and shutting down the dusting that bare slabs are known for. This is the step that makes a floor tough rather than merely smooth.

3. Grinding and polishing

We work up through a series of diamond grits, each pass finer than the last, until the surface hits the gloss level you picked. This is also where we set how much aggregate shows: a smooth cream finish, a light salt-and-pepper, or full stone exposure.

4. Sealing and handover

A penetrating guard goes on to resist oil, wine, and road salt, then we burnish, clean up, and walk the floor with you. The care instructions take about thirty seconds to read, because that is genuinely all the floor needs.
