Then the floor goes down, the trim and thresholds go back, and the offcuts leave with us. Keeping it right afterwards takes very little: sweep or vacuum the grit, damp mop with a vinyl-safe cleaner, use pads under furniture, and mop up standing water rather than letting it sit at a doorway.
